Wooden Dummy FAQs
Before contacting us, please read below. Thank you!
How long will it take to get my dummy?
Each beautiful dummy is built by hand by our custom woodworker. They are not mass produced in a factory. There are no other high quality dummies built like this in the country and they have become more and more popular over the last several years. Due to this fact, our dummy manufacturing & delivery time frames are generally 7-8 weeks barring any unforseen circumstances such as equipment malfunctions or illness (which generally don't happen, but you never know). There is always a possiblity that the 7-8 time frame could be shorter depending on the number of dummy orders. We realize that this is a long wait time especially when you are excited to pound on your dummy and we do our very best to get the dummies out as soon as possible. We ask that you please be patient. You will be contacted via email once your dummy is ready to ship and tracking is emailed as soon as it is available. IT WILL BE WORTH IT ONCE YOU SEE YOUR DUMMY! If you are only ordering arms or a leg, the general manufacturing time is approximately 2 weeks. All dummies ship via FedEx.
Do you ship internationally?
No, we ship to the United States & Canada only. For shipping quotes to Canada please complete our shipping quote form. Canadian customers must call to place order. All duties are the responsibility of the customer. We are unable to give quotes for these fees.
What are the shipping costs?
If you are in the United States, you can get a shipping estimate by adding the dummy of your choice to your shopping cart. You may view your shopping cart on the right side of the site. There you will see a place to enter your zip code then click "ship estimate". Please note that this works for US addresses only.
How are the dummies made?
All of our wooden dummies are beautifully handcrafted with a solid Douglas Fir core and a 1.5" thick outer layer of Ash. Ash is as hard as red oak and is used in the manufacturing of baseball bats and axe handles. The outer layer of Ash makes our trunks much more resilient to surface cracking! Dummy bodies are constructed of nine boards, glued and pressed together. This is similar to plywood and is less likely to split or crack. All dummies (and most stands) are available in five
beautiful finishes and include three coats of high gloss furniture grade polyurethane. An optional
custom symbol can be added to your dummy body for a small additional fee. For more information, please view our
manufacturing process.
Can any of your dummy bodies be used with any of your stands?
Yes. Our dummy bodies are made with specific notched holes to allow them to be mixed & matched with any of our stands.
Can I use your dummy bodies w/ a stand I already have?
No. Our dummy bodies are designed to be used with our stands only. The only way our dummy would work with another stand would be if you were building a stand after you receive your dummy body.
Can I use your stands with a dummy body I already have?
No. Our dummy stands are designed to work specifically with our dummies bodies only.
Can I use my dummy outside?
Yes. Each dummy body includes a 12" deep removable block in the core which can be removed to allow the dummy to be moved from a wallmount stand to a freestand or to a 4x4 outdoor post.
Note: As with any finished furntiture, your dummy should not be left outside for long periods of time as rain and sun will eventually discolor and damage the wood.
Is there a warranty?
We offer a limited 3 year replacement warranty on arms & legs only. Replacement of arm or leg is available within 3 years of purchase date should a breakage occur only if the dummy was used inside. Arm or leg must be returned to receive a replacement and the customer is responsible for return shipping charges. New arm or leg will be shipped at no charge to customer. Minor body cracks are not covered.
