Mostly used for outdoor training. All manila ropes are treated with a
straight mineral oil petroleum product to stop mold and bugs during
shipment & storage. Any odor or oily feeling will dissipate with
use. Caps may be used as handles to avoid touching the rope. Manila
ropes do shed during use so we recommend that they be used outside, in a
garage, or basement environment. Manila rope is the best rope for use
on semi-abrasive surfaces. Using on this type of surface can still cause
the rope to fray but it will hold up longer than the poly rope on this
type of surface. Grass, dirt, or smooth concrete are the best surfaces
to train on (NOT rough concrete or tar like a driveway). End caps are
glued & heat shrunk. End caps may also be purchased separately.
This combo includes one (1) 50 ft. manila Battling Rope® in the size of your choice and John Brookfield's Challenge Level 1 DVD.
The 1.5” 50 ft. rope is the best rope to start with for general physical preparedness & conditioning. The benefits of training with this rope are as follows:

Battling Ropes® Challenge DVD
Go beyond the basics and into the advanced with this DVD. The "Battling Ropes® Challenge" is a dynamic training DVD that shows you a wide variety of exercises in the Battling Rope® Level 1 training. In John Brookfield's "Introduction to the Battling Ropes® System" he takes you through the basic exercises. In Level 1 he also demonstrates the basics, but then takes you onto the intermediate exercises and then advanced.
This training DVD will ground you and give you more than enough knowlege to prepare you to climb the ladder and into other levels of the system. John shows you exercises in the kneeling and seated positions, as well as demonstrates exercises that actually will double the intensity of your training. The Battling Ropes® Challenge will train you how to sustain higher intensity for longer durations of time. This sustained intensity is the result of the fact that the system demands that you use constant velocity instead of momentum. Approximate running time is 55 minutes.
